Welcome to my studio

My creative process is free and explorative, where I work with a variety of materials such as sheet metal, linen canvas, hardboard, and Japanese paper. I primarily use acrylic and ink, often thinned with plenty of water, and I rarely apply them with a brush, instead using special tools that give a more vibrant expression.

Structures and repeating patterns are central to my work, and I strive for each motif to have a clear crispness. The frames I use are usually handmade in iron, but for some works, I also choose treated oak frames to enhance the overall impression.

As a customer, you can choose an existing motif, and I'm happy to help come up with suggestions that fit your specific context. You also have the option to order a custom-made artwork, entirely based on your own wishes. For the best results, we'd love to meet in my studio, where we can explore materials and expressions together to create something that feels just right for you.

Art inspired by the structures of nature

Nature has always been my greatest source of inspiration. I am fascinated by the constancy of nature, but also by the ephemeral, such as a wave that flashes or the light that wanders during a temporary change of weather. Since I often create on oxidized sheet metal and with a lot of water and with long drying times, the natural process takes place in the creation

See pictures below with inspiration vs. part of motive.

Name

From the outdoors to the home

grate
The sheets are cut at a sheet metal shop and then left out on the mountain at our summer cottage in Torslanda Havsbad to rust. The surface structure becomes coarser the longer the sheets rust. With the slight slope of the mountain, you already get nice runs and patterns here.
Apply color
I usually prime the sheets with plain white ceiling or wall paint. In the picture: orange and denim blue airbrush ink is scraped over the sheets. These colors are very highly pigmented and fluid and are combined with a lot of water during the creation process.
Tork
The airbrush paint together with water is left to dry. As the sheet metal is not an absorbent material, this can take up to 24 hours. This long drying process affects and is affected by the rust in the plate, which creates a nice crispness.
Appointment
Here is an order in 85 x 125 cm format. The motif has a light warm gray surface with a deep blue brushstroke. One of the few times I used a brush. Drying in the sun means that rust spots do not show through.
Ramsweld
I designed the frames many years ago and they look the same now. They are welded by hand. The frames give a raw but stylish feel to the motifs. I also use spacers so the subject and frame come out 20 mm from the wall which gives finer shading.
Photography
Here I am hanging my artwork at my customer's place and I am photographing the environment. It is a great pleasure for me to decorate with my artwork for my customers and make them happy. The effect is best when interior design and art interact.
